Because It’s Important!
This article is all about being lazy and green!
If you’re the kind of person who finds it easy to convince him or herself that the car is a much better option than a twenty minute walk (and that it won’t do any damage if you drive slowly, and it’s them planes up there that are responsible for destroying the ozone layer), you should be reading this over and over again, until you can fight the urge to get in that car!
I get it though. I am lazy too. (Thanks for rubbing it in Enigin!) It’s just really very hard to not be, isn’t it? And let’s be honest for a moment: being lazy very often feels good. When people say “I love a good workout me, I feel so much better afterwards when my body is shattered and I can barely move!” I just think: Liar, liar, leotard on fire! How could being shattered and feeling worn down ever be a good thing?!
So it’s no wonder we are now a world of overweight people with very little urge to do anything to help the planet, is it? And here’s the thing: I don’t think we should blame ourselves too much for it, and I don’t think we are necessarily wrong. When it comes down to it we are humans doing what we do: making progress and not giving a monkey’s about the long-term consequences.
That said, it’s time to stop pretending. I know, I know, you’ve heard it a million times before, but get used to it, because this subject is only going to get more and more important as the next few years go by.
